Operation Welcome Back Pack was formed in Collier County, Florida as a way for our community to honor and welcome home the heroes of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.

The Veterans Council of Collier County and a small band of volunteers asked local businesses to donate goods and services. We also encouraged community members to go out and purchase gift certificates for the Veterans that have recently returned to the United States. The response in our community was incredible!

On Memorial Day 2005 the community presented it's Veterans with their Welcome Back Packs filled with t-shirts, golf, fishing, boat rides, zoo tickets, pizza, bowling, dinner for two, movie passes and much more.

The Veterans that received the Welcome Back Packs were so moved by the show of support, they said "Would't it be great if all returning Veterans got the same 4-star treatment?"
